March 23, 2021 Today the government confronted the technicians, but it was not decided to extend the current state of emergency to April 11.

This was stated by the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, interviewed by the journalist Bianca Berlinguer on the TV show Cartabianca, on Raitre.

"No decision has been taken at the moment - said Speranza - we will discuss in the coming days and make all the evaluations. Today we simply made a point on the epidemiological situation in our country. We discussed with the technicians, we tried to analyze what may happen in the next few days, but we have not discussed measures ".

On today's meeting, the minister said, "completely partial information" leaked.

"I believe that we need all vaccines, as soon as possible as long as they are effective and safe and the regulatory agencies must tell us," added Speranza, speaking of the Sputnik vaccine.

"I am not interested in the nationality of the scientists who worked on a vaccine - he added -. If they are Russian or European, I am interested in whether the vaccine works. We must not have any kind of prejudice, if the EMA and Aifa are there. they say it's effective it's safe it's okay with me.

"We have been linear from the beginning, starting with doctors, health personnel and then the most elderly and vulnerable. When one of the approved vaccines, AstraZeneca, had an age restriction, we activated categories, starting with the school staff. But the rules are clear, already approved and shared by all the presidents of the region. The vaccination campaign is a heritage of this country, as soon as we have the new doses we must be able to run as much as possible ".

So Speranza, about the organization of the vaccination campaign.

"We must avoid controversy", underlined the minister, "this battle can only be won together".
