Frankfurt / Main / Munich (dpa / lby) - The head of the German Football Association (DFB) has criticized the new Corona resolutions by the federal government and state leaders.

In a joint statement on Tuesday, DFB boss Fritz Keller and Vice President Rainer Koch, who is also President of the Bavarian Football Association, wrote: “It is disappointing that organized amateur sport is not mentioned with a single syllable in the federal-state decisions that have now been made . "

With all caution one regrets "very much that the focus is once again on bans and not solutions that offer ways to deal appropriately with the pandemic".

The lockdown, which has severely restricted sport in the amateur and youth sector since the beginning of November, was extended until April 18, and there are initially no new perspectives for the sport.

"Unfortunately, even after a year of pandemic, organized amateur football is still not seen as part of the solution," wrote Keller and Koch.

All previous findings would be such that “playing football outdoors in the open is not a pandemic driver and the risk of infection on the field is minimal”.

Professional football did not have to interrupt the game a second time after spring 2020 and allows active players, coaches and participants to test closely and regularly.
