Many summer Gotlanders usually go to the island during the Easter weekend and holidays to open their holiday homes.

This Easter, Destination Gotland will put a third large ferry into service.

116 departures will take place week 13-14.

However, the pandemic affects travel.

According to the shipping company, bookings this Easter have decreased by 35% compared to the last normal year, 2019.

- The most important thing is that there is no holiday or leave from the pandemic, says infection control doctor Maria Amér, who emphasizes that travel and stays on Gotland must be infection-proof.

Best in the country

At the same time as the infection rate is relatively high right now, Gotland is the region that has come the furthest of all the country's healthcare regions with the vaccinations according to vaccination coordinator Christine Senter.

But according to Maria Amér, it is still too early to make any changes to the current coronary restrictions.
