Dresden (dpa / sn) - Dresdner Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH (EFW) will also be servicing the Bundeswehr's NH-90 helicopters in the future.

On Tuesday, the first helicopter landed at the airport of the Saxon capital, as announced by the EFW and the armed forces.

This means that the Bundeswehr has another industrial center for the maintenance of the NH-90 fleet in addition to that of Airbus Helicopters Deutschland GmbH Donauwörth.

After the capacity has been expanded, maintenance, inspection and repair of up to 14 of the modern helicopters are possible.

EFW develops and manufactures lightweight components for aircraft structures and interiors for all Airbus models, converts passenger aircraft to cargo aircraft, maintains and repairs aircraft of the Airbus family and provides engineering services for the certification and approval of aviation products.

According to its own information, the company had a turnover of almost 300 million euros in 2019 and currently employs around 1,600 people.
