Berlin (dpa) - The Berlin museums that are already open must also remain closed over Easter due to the corona.

"We want to stand still", said Berlin's Governing Mayor Michael Müller, "there is no gallery or museum visit."

The SPD politician pointed out on Tuesday that the country was “still” in crisis.

The State Museums have already announced that they will postpone the second stage planned for April 1 with the opening of more museums.

According to Müller, the pilot project with various stages, in which the Philharmoniker, the Berlin Ensemble and the State Opera Unter den Linden, for example, the Club Commission also participates with a concert, each with events only with a tested audience, will not be affected until Easter.

However, this should also not be possible over the Easter holidays.

"That has to be pushed," said Müller.

The head of government announced that such pilot projects would be extended to hotels and restaurants.

"If we somehow want to get out of this loop of open, closed, open, closed, we have to develop a feeling for it: How can I ensure normality?" Said Müller.

For this, experience with such pilot projects would have to be gained.
