On the 23rd local time, the Kempten Hospital in the Argon region of Germany confirmed that a 55-year-old nurse from the hospital was vaccinated with AstraZeneca on March 3 and developed symptoms of cerebral thrombosis, and unfortunately passed away on the 20th of this month.

Doctors believe that the formation of cerebral venous thrombosis in the deceased is highly likely to be related to the AstraZeneca vaccine.

According to a report by the Paul Ehrlich Institute in charge of vaccine safety in Germany, as of the 19th of this month, there have been 14 cases of cerebral venous thrombosis after vaccination in Germany.

A spokesperson for the institute said that with the exception of one of the cases, the other cases are women between 20 and 63 years old.

Last week, Germany temporarily suspended the vaccination, but the European Medicines Agency subsequently announced that the AstraZeneca vaccine was still safe and effective, and Germany resumed the vaccination.
