A 55-year-old man has been indicted for attempted murder on his 42-year-old wife and attempted murder on his 12-year-old daughter this weekend in Charente-Maritime.
He is suspected of having stabbed them last Wednesday at the equestrian center of Saint-Palais-sur-Mer near Royan, reports France Bleu.
At around 6.30 p.m., the two victims had been taken care of by the emergency services because of significant wounds inflicted with the knife on the chest, hands, thighs and face, specifies
Sud Ouest.
Kill his daughter to punish his wife
They immediately blamed their husband and father.
He was arrested at Royan hospital the evening he was trying to seek treatment.
The alleged perpetrator acknowledged his desire to kill his daughter in order to “punish” his wife against the background of divorce.
On the other hand, he disputes the facts on the latter.
While in police custody, he also claimed to have attempted suicide.
Placed in pre-trial detention, this man unknown to justice faces life imprisonment.
