As a result of the shooting in the American city of Boulder, Colorado, ten people were killed.

The local police announced this on their Twitter page.

They added that among the dead was policeman Eric Talley, who was one of the first to arrive at the scene.

The department also reported that the alleged shooter was wounded and detained.

This information during a press conference was confirmed by the head of the police department of the city of Kerry Yamaguchi.

“At the moment, the threat has passed.

A person of interest to the investigation has been detained.

At a press conference, police representatives clarified that the shooter's motives are still unknown and will be established in the course of the ongoing investigation.

It is also not yet known whether the attacker had accomplices and what type of weapon he used.

His identity is not revealed.

As told in law enforcement agencies, the officers received a message that an unknown person opened fire in the parking lot near the grocery store.

He later moved to the store, and later began shooting at the arriving policemen.

Boulder police urged local residents to avoid the scene.

White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said President Joe Biden had been informed of the shooting.
