Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - After the setback in the state elections, a large part of the CDU district chairman has spoken out in favor of exploring with the aim of a new edition of green-black.

At an online conference on Monday evening, many district leaders supported the CDU state chairman Thomas Strobl, who is conducting the exploratory talks with the Greens.

As the German Press Agency learned from participants, some district chairmen also demanded that the Southwest CDU need a new start in terms of personnel.

Among others, the district associations of Göppingen, Stuttgart, Konstanz and Lörrach have expressed themselves in this direction.

"If we continue like this, we cannot remain a People's Party", Willi Streit, chairman of the Konstanz district association, had already told the "Südkurier" before the conference.

A letter was written to the regional association and the parliamentary group that it could not go on like this.

There are not enough convincing top staff in the country.

Top candidate Susanne Eisenmann has drawn the consequences for herself, now new faces are needed at the top of the state.

Streit names the members of the Bundestag Andreas Jung and Thorsten Frei as candidates in the "Südkurier".

At the conference, Streit repeated his criticism, but also praised Strobl's performance as Minister of the Interior and spoke out in favor of a new edition of Green-Black, according to participants.

Overall, there was a great need for discussion about the question of how the crash could come to just 24.1 percent and what consequences should be drawn from it.

Strobl is also supported because he is regarded as the confidante of Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens).

In addition to Green-Black, the Greens are also considering a traffic light alliance with the SPD and FDP.
