Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - The members of the new state parliament inquiry commission "Mobility of the future in Hesse 2030" have agreed on an initial timetable for the upcoming meetings.

The committee wants to tackle the traffic problems in the country across political groups by spring 2023 and present an overall concept.

"Today we have set our course and given ourselves guidelines for our work together," said Chairman Markus Meysner (CDU) after the first working session in Wiesbaden on Monday.

In addition to rail and road transport, the thematic blocks also included local mobility, shipping and digitalization.

For its work, the committee gets the advice of traffic experts and scientists, among other things, as the state parliament announced.

The basis for the work of the commission is an application by the opposition parliamentary groups of the SPD and FDP, which all parliamentary groups except the AfD had approved in November 2020.
