Wolgast (dpa / mv) - Unknown stole three GDR cult mopeds in Wolgast (Vorpommern-Greifswald).

As the police announced on Monday, the three series S 50 mopeds were stolen from a broken-open garage.

The owner noticed the loss of the well-preserved Simson machines on Sunday and filed a complaint.

The police gave the past two weeks as the period of the crime.

The property damage was estimated at just under 5000 euros.

Mopeds of this series were built in Suhl in the GDR.

Small motorcycles of this type have now achieved cult status and are also more frequently stolen.

They are considered to be robust, generally drive faster than comparable modern scooters and are easier to repair.
