Frankfurt / Main (dpa) - The Star Alliance aviation alliance is founding a new competence center for digital issues in Singapore.
So far, the tasks of the alliance, which was co-founded by Lufthansa, have been concentrated in Frankfurt.
In the future, the two centers will jointly take care of the further development, as announced on Monday in Frankfurt.
In Singapore, the main focus will be on digital offers to passengers.
The Asian city-state prevailed on the basis of several criteria such as access to innovation or international competitiveness.
A few weeks ago, hackers obtained a large amount of customer data from the Star Alliance via the IT service provider Sita.
