Vladimir Putin, who will get vaccinated against Covid-19 tomorrow, responds harshly to the EU which seems to close to Sputnik V. "We do not impose anything on anyone, but when we hear certain statements from senior officials, then one wonders what interests they are protecting and by representing these people, the interests of the citizens of European countries? What are they doing? Lobbying? And what's more, they are also imposing sanctions against us ", said the Russian president.

Statements made during a meeting on vaccinations in Russia, commenting on the words of the EU Commissioner for the Internal Market Thierry Breton, that an interview said he was certain that in the EU "we will absolutely not need Sputnik".

The head of the Kremlin then added: "Let them do what they think is necessary and appropriate to fulfill the tasks they have to face".

Urged on the issue, a spokesman for the EU Commission, Eric Mamer, then said that on the Russian vaccine "there is no procedure" underway for inclusion in the EU package, but "the door is not closed forever".

Confirming the possibility, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said today that EMA experts will be in Russia on 10 April for the first official on-site contacts and to proceed with the review of clinical studies on Spuntik-V announced at the beginning of March.

Yesterday, the Lazio Region announced that the Spallanzani Institute in Rome will start scientific experimentation with the Russian vaccine.
