Stuttgart / Kornwestheim (dpa / lsw) - The previously deadlocked collective bargaining in the Baden-Württemberg metal and electrical industry will be continued on Wednesday in Kornwestheim.

The union IG Metall and the employers' association Südwestmetall announced this on Monday in Stuttgart.

The fifth round of negotiations in the ongoing collective bargaining dispute is to begin at 11 a.m., and press conferences are scheduled for the late afternoon.

In the four rounds of talks so far, the two sides had not come much closer to each other.

IG Metall is demanding, among other things, four percent more money - either in the form of wage increases or at least partial compensation if a company reduces working hours in a crisis.

Südwestmetall rejects this and instead calls for special collective bargaining benefits to be cut.

The union does not want to go along with that.

To support its demands, IG Metall has been calling for warning strikes for weeks.

According to the information, more than 150,000 employees in a number of companies have already taken part.
