The satirist and MEP Martin Sonneborn (Die Party) wants to move into the Berlin House of Representatives.

The list of candidates for the state parliament election was decided on Sunday at a party congress in Berlin, Sonneborn's party said on Monday.

The 55-year-old is therefore in sixth place on the list.

However, the list is headed by three women: Annie Tarrach, Andrea Kübert and Anna Katz are therefore in the top positions of the party in Berlin.

And the name of the layout director of the satirical magazine “Titanic”, Tom Hintner, should also be on it.

According to the party, the list of candidates was approved with 97 percent of the vote.

The party was founded in 2004 by employees of the satirical magazine "Titanic", Sonneborn was editor-in-chief at the time.

In the 2019 European elections, she secured two seats in the EU Parliament with 2.4 percent of the vote in Germany.

In the last election to the House of Representatives in Berlin in 2016, the party received two percent of the vote and thus missed out on the state parliament.

Sonneborn has been a MEP since 2014.
