Esslingen (dpa / lsw) - driving license gone, cars gone and impending criminal proceedings - these are the consequences that an illegal car race between Göppingen and Esslingen has for those involved.

After a man and a woman, both 22 years old, were stopped by a patrol on the night of the alleged race in mid-February, a third, 23-year-old driver involved has now been determined, as the police announced on Monday.

In February, three vehicles were noticed on the federal highway 10, which drove side by side, braked almost to a stop and then accelerated again strongly.

In addition, at least one uninvolved motorist is said to have been forced to slow down due to the driving maneuver.

The driving licenses of all three drivers were collected and are being investigated on charges of participating in a prohibited car race.

In addition, two of the cars involved were confiscated.

They are to be auctioned for the benefit of the state treasury.
