Bremen (dpa / lni) - More than ten percent of all Bremen residents have received their first vaccination against the corona virus.

"Since we vaccinated in the vaccination centers, in the clinics, as well as with mobile teams in prioritized facilities in the state of Bremen, we were able to quickly vaccinate the most vulnerable group," said Health Senator Claudia Bernhard (left) on Monday.

4.4 percent of the population in the smallest federal state received full protection with the second vaccination.

All people of the highest priority level, especially the very old, were offered a vaccination, said Bernhard.

Currently, all employees in clinics with patient contact, prioritized medical practices and employees in daycare centers and primary schools are vaccinated from Priority Group II.

The Robert Koch Institute reported a rate of 10.2 percent first vaccinations for Bremen and Thuringia up to and including Sunday.

Only in Saarland with 10.8 percent are there more.

The national average was therefore 9.0 percent.

In Lower Saxony it is 8.6 percent.
