Edmundo Bal Francés is now officially the Citizens' candidate to preside over the Community of Madrid.
The state attorney and deputy spokesperson for Cs in Congress has been elected in primaries with the vote of 89.43% of the party's affiliates in the Community of Madrid.
After the resignation last week of the former regional vice president, Ignacio Aguado, Edmundo Bal announced that he will be the headliner in Madrid of the liberal formation at a very delicate moment and when some polls place Inés Arrimadas's party outside the Madrid Assembly .
In the first moments after the announcement, Bal assured that his intention after the elections of May 4 is that the extremes do not govern, move Madrid away from radicalism and agree to an investiture with the PP, as they did in 2019, despite of the electoral victory of Ángel Gabilondo.
