In the United States, Miami Beach has been placed under a state of emergency and under curfew.

All this because of the thousands of students who have arrived in the city like every year to celebrate Spring Break.

The police had to put an end to dozens of parties and gatherings in the street.

Miami Beach authorities learned it last year the hard way, after an increase in cases of contamination, Covid-19 and Spring Break do not mix.

This year, the town hall issued numerous warnings and imposed new measures to deal with the groups of students and revelers who arrived since last week.

But that did not prevent these groups from walking without masks, without distancing, on the beach, in the streets, in restaurants and bars to celebrate these spring holidays.

They were even more numerous than last year.

Probably driven by the desire to let go after a year of pandemic and the impression that with

the vaccination which advances in the country

, the risk is under control.

On Sunday, dozens of young people ransacked restaurants, others began to fight forcing the police to intervene with tear gas.

Faced with this situation, the city announced a curfew from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

A measure that could remain in force until April 12.

Restaurants and bars are also expected to close early.

The sale of alcohol should be banned after 10 p.m.

In Florida, where the wearing of a mask has never been imposed, the Miami Beach authorities are struggling to enforce health measures during this Spring Break.
