Hamburg (dpa / lnw) - In the newly founded European League of Football (ELF), further participants have been announced with Berlin Thunder, Cologne Centurions and Leipzig Kings.

"Berlin and Cologne are cities with a long football history and of course with large fan groups who have waited 14 years for this moment - and I also see great potential in Leipzig," said the league commissioner and TV expert Patrick Esume on Monday with.

The German Knights from Hanover and the Ingolstadt Praetorians will not be in the new league as planned, the organizers said.

For this, the teams from Cologne and Leipzig moved up.

The teams in the new league with eight teams from three nations have been determined: In addition to the newcomers, the Hamburg Sea Devils, Stuttgart Scorpions and Frankfurt Galaxy as well as the Panthers Wroclaw from Poland and the Barcelona Gladiators from Spain will take part.

Esume is looking forward to the start: "I expect all teams to play at a high level and I expect exciting duels at eye level."

The kick-off starts on June 20 and can be seen at ProSieben Maxx.

13 games will be broadcast live there - including the final “Bowl” on September 26th.

More games can be seen in the stream on “ran.de”.
