The setting is not very bucolic but the operation seemed concerted.

Tablecloths, blankets, small homemade sandwiches… This sunny but chilly Sunday noon, around thirty people decided to picnic on the Place du Capitole in Toulouse.

Funny idea then, which immediately attracted onlookers ... and a police intervention.

The small groups seated and unpacking their baskets initially pretended not to know each other.

The police therefore explained to them that despite everything, they formed an undeclared gathering in the prefecture.

The Sunday deconfines did not resist the order to get up but most stayed in the corner.

And, from negotiations to explanations, the evacuation of this wild picnic finally lasted a good two hours.

" The benefit of the doubt "

So, suddenly want to reclaim the heart of the city?

To protest peacefully against health constraints?

From a police source, no sign was released no demand expressed.

"For the benefit of the doubt", no one was fined.

135 euros, that would have been expensive the picnic "improvised".
