Bad Vilbel (dpa) - TV chef Steffen Henssler is a thorn in the side of expensive kitchen technology.

In a conversation with the private radio broadcaster Hit Radio FFH in Bad Vilbel, he regretted that in Germany more money was invested in the technical equipment of a kitchen than in food.

"The more expensive the kitchen, the less you feel like cooking," Henssler stated.

In his opinion, this has to do with the state of the kitchen after it has been used: "It gets dirty while cooking."

The 48-year-old became famous for the television program “Grill den Henssler”.

He has also been making videos since Corona.

In it, he shows dishes that take a maximum of 25 minutes to prepare in order to motivate viewers to cook them again.

People would enjoy such uncomplicated things without a number of ingredients.

They noticed, "Cooking is not rocket science," said Henssler.

A book with quick recipes was also created based on the videos.

In the program “Silvia am Sonntag - der Talk” the cook, entertainer and author also gave a little insight into his private life.

As the father of two daughters, he is currently particularly annoyed about digitization in schools.

"There's money for everything, but we really have some catching up to do in Germany when it comes to digitization and schools."

He noticed that during homeschooling: "What I experienced there knocks your socks off," said Henssler.
