It was on Saturday afternoon that Andreas Ogenblad made the macabre find.

Just a few meters from the plot boundary, in a slope belonging to Ramdala church, he saw that there were femurs, ribs and several skulls strewn on the ground.

- You get a lump in the stomach, I do not want to end up on a slope behind the church.

If you have decided to be buried, you should probably be allowed to remain in the ground, says Andreas Ogenblad.

He estimates the find at four to five skulls, but he imagines that it may be even more below the surface.

- It felt very macabre and unworthy.

The kids were out playing so it was just pure luck that they did not find it, says Andreas Ogenblad.

"This is absolutely not the way to go"

He guesses that it is the old graves that have been excavated and that the contents have been dumped on the slope.

- This is absolutely not allowed to happen.

I may well contact Jämjö pastorate and hear what the church says about what is here.

"Of course unhappy"

Linda Allwood, a priest in Ramdala parish, says that the cemetery has been there since the 13th century and that there are therefore many bone remains in the earth.

When it is dug in the ground in connection with burial, you try to put all the soil back in the grave, but there is always a small amount of soil left over.

- The soil that remains is collected and can sometimes be stirred by weather and wind.

Our caretakers regularly check that no leg parts have come to light, but this has now happened anyway and it is of course unfortunate.

We will review our routines, says Linda Allwood, pastor of Ramdala parish via SMS.
