Frankfurt / Main (dpa) - The German Olympic Sports Confederation does not question the Olympic base in Saxony in the course of the affair about breaches of duty by gymnastics trainer Gabriele Frehse.

"On the contrary.

We want to do everything to ensure that this is not necessary, ”said DOSB President Alfons Hörmann, but also emphasized that the problem at the Chemnitz location is not reduced to gymnastics alone.

“There is definitely a need for some improvement.

We want to discuss them soberly and properly in two or three weeks on the basis of the final report. "

The DOSB ombudsman Felix Rettmeyer reported on the investigations at the presidium meeting of the umbrella association on Saturday and announced a final report in two weeks.

The report should provide an insight into the “overall gymnastics scenario”, but also how things stand “with regard to the Olympic base as a whole”, said Hörmann.

After an investigation by a Frankfurt law firm, the German Gymnastics Association had found "serious breaches of duty" by Frehse.

Ex-world champion Pauline Schäfer and other gymnasts had accused the trainer of harassing her during training, of administering medication without a doctor's prescription and of not allowing any objection.

Frehse has denied the allegations several times.
