Covid-19 in Ecuador: favoritism in vaccination, the Minister of Health resigns

In Ecuador, the prosecution wants to know if people who are not normally yet entitled to vaccinations have benefited from privileges, in a country where only 1% of the population has already been vaccinated.

The Minister of Health, Rodolfo Farfan, has just resigned after only three weeks of exercise, because he too was cited in the investigation of the prosecution.

lists

.

The prosecution wants to know in particular if people who are not normally entitled to it have benefited from privileges to be vaccinated.

This is the case, for example, of the owner of a radio station, a sports official and the mother of the Minister of Health, Juan Carlos Zevallos, who resigned less than a month ago and immediately left the country. for Miami.

Confidential medical information

The minister who replaced him Rodolfo Farfan has in turn resigned after only three weeks, because he too was cited in the prosecution's investigation.

He had stood out by refusing to make public the lists of people vaccinated for reasons of medical confidentiality.

Already criticized for the slowness of the vaccination campaign which only affected less than 1% of the population, barely 120,000 people, the Presidency of the Republic hastened to take the lead and confirm that the chief state, his wife and 11 of his relatives and bodyguards were vaccinated, officially for national security reasons.
