WELT AM SONNTAG:

Vaccines, rapid tests, corona strategies: Hamburg's Mayor Peter Tschentscher (SPD) does not see any “German state failure” in these areas.

Do you agree?

Stefan Aust:

It is not a state failure, only one important area does not work - namely the government.

We are experiencing incompetence here to a previously unknown extent, that has to be said clearly.

Practically everything that is linked to practical action fails, such as protecting certain groups or organizing the vaccine.

And so there remains the rule of decrees and ordinances as salvation.

It is becoming more and more clear that these are alibi events, and so it will be next Monday when the federal and state governments meet again.

WELT AM SONNTAG:

Now the incidence

value is

rising again, the latest "easing" is being reversed.

Is the incidence value for this the right size?

Aust:

Those who always use the absolute number as a basis will have more positive results with more tests, for example with children.

It remains inexplicable to me why tests have not been carried out week after week for a year by a consistently large group in order to create a comparable basis for evaluation.

All federal states could do that in order to actually see what development is emerging.

WELT AM SONNTAG:

How credible is the corona protection if a flight to Mallorca is possible, but a vacation on the North Sea is not?

Aust:

That cannot be explained to a normal, logical person.

You shouldn't be surprised if because of this many turn away or become “Corona-tired”.

People react when fear and panic are systematically spread throughout.

And politics has reached a stage where there is hardly any way out for them without making their own months of failure clear.
