The Moderates, the Christian Democrats, the Center Party and the Sweden Democrats believe that the outcome of the referendum around Västerås Airport should be followed, regardless of the outcome.

- We have asked the people of Västerås who then had the opportunity to have their say, and we believe this is a clear result of how the policy should proceed, says Opposition Councilor Elisabeth Unell (M).

The other four parties - the Social Democrats, the Green Party, the Left Party and the Liberals - emphasize the importance of high turnout and some that there must be a marked difference between the yes and no votes for the result to be considered clear.

- I do not want to spin into any percentages here, that would be stupid.

But the turnout is important and the result will also be important, says municipal councilor Staffan Jansson (S).
