With the entry into force of new restrictions to fight against Covid-19 contamination, some have preferred to flee Paris to take advantage of space and the great outdoors.

In Deauville for example, located about ten kilometers from a confined area, the locals say they understand the arrival of Parisians but hope not to suffer the consequences in the weeks to come.

REPORT

Since Friday evening, 16 departments have been placed under cover.

In total, 21 million people are affected by this new confinement which prohibits travel more than 10 kilometers from their home.

Nothing to do with the episode crossed last year since this time, outdoor outings are allowed, within a defined radius but for an unlimited time.

Despite everything, some Parisians preferred to flee the capital.

Crowded trains and kilometers of traffic jams at the exit of the Paris were observed Friday evening.

"Staying between four walls is not possible"

Some have chosen to go to Deauville, in Calvados, where confinement is not in force.

"We ran away!", Recognizes an Ile-de-France at the microphone of Europe 1. For her, this flight outside the restrictions and this gust of Norman wind are a great comfort.

"We are in paradise! We see the sea, the sand, the dunes, we hear the sea, we breathe," she describes.

And that is worth all the fines since she plans to come back before each week of freediving.

"I had the Covid in November: a long Covid, I was hospitalized. With the new confinement, I said to myself 'no, it is not possible, I cannot stay within four walls' . I don't have a balcony, I don't have a garden, ”she says.

The lucky ones even canceled their return ticket: "I will take the opportunity to stay there for two weeks to telework, see the sea, be able to go out on weekends", testifies another Parisian met by Europe 1.

"At each confinement, the Parisians come here"

"Since Thursday I see that there are many more people. Anyway with each confinement, the Parisians come to confine themselves here", notes a gallery owner of the city, the look suspicious but the tone resigned.

She says she understands these repeated migrations.

In the main street of Deauville, cars registered as 75 parade and passers-by force Fabrice to increase his pace because there is a queue for his pancakes to take away.

"We are very happy to have them but all I hope is that in 15 days it will not be our turn to be confined", he admits.

But hope is as slim as the ten kilometers that separate Deauville from confined areas.
