Bremen (AP) - Wolfsburg midfielder Maximilian Arnold is “a bit disappointed” about his failure to be considered in the German national soccer team.

"I have to honestly say that," reported the 26-year-old after VfL's 2-1 win at Werder Bremen on Sky TV.

Arnold was also one of the best Wolfsburgs on Saturday.

«You do everything, you do everything, is in third place.

I think I'll play a pretty good game because I still haven't got a chance ... ”he said.

"I could have slipped in at the three games."

Germany will play against Iceland, Romania and North Macedonia between March 25 and 31.

With reference to the competition in the team of national coach Joachim Löw, Arnold said.

"We have a country that is very, very big, lots of talent, lots of good players, it's not that easy."

He now wants to use the Bundesliga break differently: "Now I have a few days off, I'll enjoy it with my family, then I'll forget all about it again."

Arnold's team-mate Wout Weghorst was even more touched due to his non-nomination for the selection of his home country.

"The whole subject is very disappointing, but what else can I say," said the Dutch top scorer from Wolfsburg, who has already scored 17 goals this season.

He doesn't feel like talking about this topic.
