The new head of the Libyan Presidency Council, Muhammad Al-Manfi, announced that he had received an invitation from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to visit Turkey as soon as possible.

This came during a phone call the exiled received from President Erdogan, according to a statement issued by the Media Office of the President of the Presidency Council.

The Turkish presidency says that a phone call took place between Erdogan and exile, and another contact between Erdogan and the head of the Libyan national unity government, Abdul Hamid al-Dabaiba.

The presidency added in a statement that President Erdogan appreciated during the two phone calls the Turkish-Libyan relations, noting that there were signs of hope regarding finding a permanent solution in Libya.

She explained that he stressed at the same time the need to strengthen cooperation between the two countries, and to preserve common interests.

The statement affirmed Turkey's constant focus on preserving the sovereignty and independence of friendly and brotherly Libya, its territorial integrity and the unity of its political entity, stressing that Ankara continues to provide it with all forms of support.
