Dresden (dpa / sn) - The volleyball players of the Dresdner SC were able to prevail in the playoff quarter-finals of the volleyball Bundesliga after two out of a maximum of three games.

Against the ladies in Black Aachen they won on Saturday in their own hall after a hard-fought game with 3: 2 (25:17, 25:20, 19:25, 23:25, 17:15).

On Wednesday, the winner of the first round won the first game in Aachen 3-1.

In the semifinals, the Dresden team will face the fourth round team, SC Potsdam, who also held their own in two games against the Rote Raben Vilsbiburg.

The first game of the best-of-three series will be played in Potsdam next Saturday.

The protégés of DSC trainer Alexander Waibl, who celebrated his 53rd birthday this Saturday, acted with high pressure on the serve at the beginning.

In the second round the DSC women were already clearly in the lead, but the ladies in black fought their way to one point.

In the final phase, the host did not owe the answer with variable attacks from a stable assumption.

At the beginning of the third section, more and more small mistakes crept in with the Elbe townspeople and they lost their line.

The fourth round was also fiercely contested.

In the close final phase, the strong fighting ladies in Black Aachen had the better end for themselves again.

In the decisive tie-break, Dresden lost a comfortable lead and was almost on the verge of defeat.

But after two match balls were awarded, the ex-Aachener Maja Storck ensured victory with an ace.

The Swiss national player was also the most successful scorer of the game with 21 points.
