Party history is a textbook and a nutrient.

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping has visited the "Red Holy Land" many times, and has traveled all over Jinggangshan, Yan'an, Xibaipo and other places to talk about insights and tell stories on different occasions.

From the book "On the History of the Chinese Communist Party" by Xi Jinping, we excerpted many touching stories of party history told by the general secretary, and together we felt the wisdom and power contained in party history.

The story of Jiao Yulu

Our generation has grown up through the education of Comrade Jiao Yulu's deeds.

For decades, the deeds of Comrade Jiao Yulu have been in my mind, and the image of Comrade Jiao Yulu has been in my mind.

I remember that on February 7, 1966, the "People's Daily" published a long newsletter by Comrade Mu Qing, "The Example of the County Party Secretary-Jiao Yulu". I was in the first grade of junior high school, and the political teacher was reading this newsletter. During the process, he choked for several times, sobbed many times, and the students shed tears.

Especially when I remembered that Comrade Jiao Yulu still insisted on working in the late stage of liver cancer, he used a stick to push the liver, and a big hole was pushed out on the right side of the wicker chair. I was deeply shocked.

In Yuhu Mountain, Lianhua County, Jiangxi Province, the elderly Gong Quanzhen visits the grave of General Gan Zuchang.

Gong Quanzhen's story

I would like to introduce to you Comrade Gong Quanzhen, a national moral model, who is the wife of the old general Comrade Gan Zuchang.

Comrade Gan Zuchang was the old Red Army in Jiangxi and the founding general of New China, but he insisted on returning to the countryside to be a farmer, and Comrade Gong Quanzhen also returned to the countryside with Comrade Gan Zuchang to work hard.

More than half a century has passed. Comrade Gong Quanzhen has always maintained the spirit of hard struggle and has been elected as a national moral model. I am very pleased to attend our meeting today.

I pay high tribute to Comrade Gong Quanzhen.

We must pass on the spirit of hard struggle from generation to generation.

The story of "half belt"

When visiting the Military History Museum, I was deeply impressed by the story of the "half belt" of the 274th Regiment of the 93rd Division of the Red 31st Army during the Long March.

The soldiers of the Red Army would rather endure starvation, but would also leave half of their belts behind and take it with them to "go to Yan'an to meet Chairman Mao."

This is the power of faith, and it is a vivid portrayal of "the iron heart follows the party."

The "half quilt" story

In Shazhou Village, Rucheng County, Hunan Province, three female Red Army soldiers stayed at the old man Xu Jiexiu's house. Before leaving, they cut off half of their only quilt and left the old man with it.

The old man said, what is the Communist Party?

The Communist Party has a quilt of its own, but it also cuts half of it for the common people.

Being in the same boat through hardships, being connected by blood, and living and dying together is the fundamental guarantee for the victory of the Chinese Communist Party and the Red Army in the Long March, and it is also the fundamental guarantee for us to overcome all difficulties and risks.

(Speech at the meeting to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Red Army's Long March on October 21, 2016)

The story of a quartermaster

During the Long March across the snow-capped mountains, a comrade was wearing thin old clothes and was frozen to death. The commander asked the Chief of Quartermaster to call, and wanted to ask him why he didn’t give this comrade who was frozen to death a cotton coat. The comrades in the team told tearfully He, the comrade who was frozen to death is the Chief of Quartermaster.

Even if you are pretended to freeze to death, you don’t have to dress yourself warmer. What a lofty state of mind!

Enlightenment seems invisible, but it will show great power when it is critical.

The story of "only one wick"

During the period of the Central Soviet Area, the leaders of the central authorities “save two or two meters a day so that the Red Army in front can eat and win the battle.” The masses sang that “Soviet cadres have a good style and bring their own dry food to work; "Poor peasants" vividly embodies the excellent style and spirit of hard work of the Communists.

According to the regulations, three wicks can be lighted in the night office, but Comrade Mao Zedong took the lead in diligence and thrift. He only lighted one wick and wrote under the dim oil lamp "Why can China's red regime exist?"

"," Jinggangshan Struggle" and other brilliant works.

The story of begging with gold bars

After the defeat of the fifth anti-"encirclement and suppression" campaign, Liu Qiyao, chairman of the Soviet government of Jiangxi Province, begged for several years with gold bars on his back. He went to great lengths to find the party organization to continue the revolution without using any of the party's funds.

Only by inheriting and carrying forward the fine traditions of the party can we cope with the "four major tests", overcome the "four dangers", correctly handle public-private relations, and eliminate the stubborn diseases of the "four winds".

Yang Jingyu's story

During the War of Resistance Against Japan, under extremely harsh conditions, General Yang Jingyu led the anti-Japanese armed forces to brave the freezing temperature of minus 40 degrees Celsius, fighting bloody battles with enemies several times their own. At the time of sacrifice, his stomach was full of withered grass, bark, and cotton wool. A grain of grain, its deeds are shocking.
