The story of a 91-year-old active-duty police officer who has lived as a police officer for about 20,000 days is drawing attention.

On the 9th local time, foreign media such as CBS News introduced the story of Mr. Smith, the oldest police officer in Arkansas.

Mr. Smith retired in his 80s after serving 46 years as Ochita County Sheriff.

However, after retiring, he was well suited for the sheriff's job, and he spent a boring day with no fun.

But just in time, the police arrested Mr. Smith, saying, "I need you because my face is known and I don't know the city work."

Mr. Smith, although he drives an unmarked patrol car, has such an outstanding presence in Arkansas that no one knows his name.

"I carry firearms, but I don't need to use them," he explained. "I know many of Arkansas are known for their powerful weapon."

"There are more people who took me home during the police service than those who took me to the police station."

Today Mr. Smith spends most of his time as a mentor to young police officers.

It is said that he is teaching his juniors that "we must respect people," saying, "Not all police officers have badges and guns."

"I will retire when God tells me to retire," said Mr. Smith, showing his willingness to serve as a police officer who will continue to protect Arkansas until then.
