Unusually and contrary to what is expected, a group of women employees of the General Directorate of Electricity in Sulaymaniyah Governorate in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq have been repairing giant electrical transformers in one of the factories affiliated with the directorate for several decades.

Most of the workers in the factory are over their fifth decade of life and approaching the sixth, but they still continue to work in repairing electrical transformers despite their old age, challenging all social circumstances and hardships by relying on their own will and abilities.

The possibility of facing death is presented at any moment in the workshop, which includes 33 women out of a total of 57 employees working in the giant factory located on the outskirts of the city, and some male employees help the female employees in some work that requires muscular effort, or work that is difficult for women to do .

The working hours of the female employees in this workshop start from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and they perform various jobs. They are graduates of industrial institutes and prep schools, and some of them have been working in this workshop for 25 years.
