The people affected and whose times need to be rebooked will be contacted by the region.

- We will get in touch with everyone involved.

Therefore, we urge those who have time for vaccination booked to wait for information and not contact the health center or 1177. Those who do not hear anything from us should go on their booked time, says Rickard Lundin.

The Swedish Public Health Agency decided today that vaccination in the near future will focus on the groups that are most at risk of serious illness and death.

As a consequence, the interval between the first and second dose is extended to 6 weeks, in the case of Pfizer and Moderna's vaccine.

This is so that more people can quickly get a first vaccine dose.

The message from FHM means that Region Östergötland must re-plan parts of the vaccination.

- We prioritize vaccination of those who are most at risk of suffering from a serious illness or death in covid-19.

Unfortunately, this means that other groups have to wait longer, says Rickard Lundin, special health care management in the Östergötland Region.

Vaccination pauses

Vaccination of medical and care staff is paused.

Also staff and users within LSS, with the exception of people who belong to priority age groups.

Vaccination continues for people in phases 1 and 2 who are 77 years or older and for certain risk groups.

These are people who have undergone bone marrow or organ transplants or who are undergoing dialysis.

During the next week, the digital booking will reopen, the region writes.
