On her Facebook, Zakharova quoted Lavrov's statement made during a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Goncharov Foundation.
"Along with the fake news, which are filled with the media and social networks, a new phenomenon has appeared in the arsenal of a number of Western leaders: fake and sometimes freak diplomacy," Lavrov said.
Earlier, Zakharova said that Moscow does not want to break off relations with the European Union.
