Munich / Berlin (dpa) - Bavaria is getting 100,000 additional doses of vaccine for the fight against the corona virus in its border region with the Czech Republic.

Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) called the agreement between the federal and state governments immediately after the phone call with the short message service Twitter as a “good signal at the vaccination summit”.

In addition to Bavaria, Saxony, Thuringia, Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate also receive additional vaccination doses.

Söder also praised the agreement between the federal and state governments to gradually involve the medical practices in Germany and the company doctors more closely in the corona vaccinations from the week after Easter.

"We need more flexibility and speed when vaccinating," wrote Söder on Twitter.
