Florists, chocolatiers and shoemakers will be able to remain open in the sixteen French departments reconfigured from Saturday, as will car dealerships by appointment.

The government had previously announced that hairdressers, booksellers and record stores could also remain open. 

The government on Friday extended the list of shops deemed essential and which will be able to remain open in the 16 departments subject to re-containment from Saturday, including florists, chocolate makers and shoemakers.

Car dealerships by appointment, as well as visits to real estate will also be authorized, according to a spokesperson for the Minister for SMEs Alain Griset to journalists.

New activities deemed essential

The government had already announced before that hairdressers, booksellers and record stores could also remain open, unlike the first lockdowns.

These categories are in addition to the many activities deemed essential during previous lockdowns, including food stores.
