Oldenburg (dpa / lni) - The EWE Baskets Oldenburg have clearly won the Lower Saxony duel of the basketball Bundesliga against Rasta Vechta.
The hosts won on Friday with an outstanding Rickey Paulding against the relegation candidate with 101: 71 (63:36) and remain in the top group with 36:12 points.
Vechta (8:40), on the other hand, is threatened with relegation as penultimate.
The gap to the first non-relegation rank is currently six points.
The game in Oldenburg was decided after ten minutes.
Coach Mladen Drijencic's team was in the lead with 32:19.
By the break, the Baskets extended their lead to 27 points.
Even after the break, the Oldenburg team had no problems with the weakened guests and also deserved victory in the altitude.
Seasoned Paulding (24 points) and Braydon Hobbs (18) in his 200th league game scored best for the Baskets.
For Vechta, Jesse Hunt (15) was the most successful.
