Paderborn (dpa) - The Karlsruher SC missed two important points in the fight for connection to the top quartet in the 2nd Bundesliga.

The fifth in the table remained undefeated on Friday evening in a 2: 2 (1: 0) against SC Paderborn in the fourth game in a row, but was only able to reduce the deficit to the relegation rank to four points.

Ostwestfalen, who have not won three home games, are stuck in the middle of the table with 34 points.

The KSC, changed to three positions, got off to a furious start.

With his 50th second division goal, Philipp Hofmann gave the guests a 1-0 lead.

The KSC dominated the game against Paderborn, who played for the first time without the suspended defense chief Uwe Hünemeier.

But Dennis Srbeny (54th) and Chris Führich (69th) turned the game in favor of the hosts who improved in the second section.

Hofmann missed a penalty for Karlsruhe (88th), before Babacar Gueye (90th + 2) managed to equalize.
