Kiel (dpa) - Schleswig-Holstein's FDP parliamentary group leader Christopher Vogt considers domestic holidays to be possible despite the increasing number of infections.

"Anyone who with a negative test would like to spend a few days in a holiday apartment or in a mobile home on Fehmarn, for example to kite there, should in my opinion be allowed to do so," Vogt told the German Press Agency on Friday.

On Monday, the heads of government from the federal and state levels want to discuss how to proceed in the corona pandemic.

People need perspectives, said Vogt.

"It's not just about the six-digit number of jobs in the tourism industry, but also about the mental health of many very stressed people and about fairness."

After all, quite a few fly abroad on vacation.

"I don't understand that their data has been so inadequately recorded so far and that so little is tested at the airports."

Vogt was critical of the ban on day tourists traveling to the neighboring state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

«I don't think it's the right way to seal off a federal state, as it were in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

That would not fit in Schleswig-Holstein, if only because of the ties with Hamburg. "

Vogt called for differentiated solutions instead of a return to a hard lockdown.

"You should enable low-risk activities with tests and digital contact tracking and avoid high-risk activities as much as possible."

Simpler rules are needed.

"Nor can it be that many traders such as restaurateurs are just losing their livelihoods because of the scandalous vaccination disaster by the federal government and the EU Commission."

Faster help is needed.

"The bridging aid 3, with which only a large part of the fixed costs is reimbursed, is often not enough for survival."
