Bremen (dpa / lni) - Bremen's Prime Minister Andreas Bovenschulte (SPD) considers the regulation for the distribution of vaccines to vaccination centers and medical practices to be too rigid.

This was a wrong decision, he criticized on Friday at the vaccination summit of the prime ministers with Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU).

He would have liked a much more flexible regulation in which the vaccines could have been distributed in the federal states depending on the local conditions.

"Contrary to our suggestion, it has now become a black and white rule."

This now stipulates that the distribution of vaccines to vaccination centers will be capped at 2.25 million doses per week.

If there is more, it should go to the medical profession.

Bovenschulte reported that the federal government stuck to this rigid regulation, arguing that no other solution could logistically be achieved.

"This means that there is a risk that the Federal Ministry of Health will slow down the vaccination rate in Bremen."

The cap should not lead to a loss of speed.

The head of government made it clear that Bremen definitely wanted to involve the doctors, but considered a more flexible solution for the distribution of the vaccines to be better.

Unfortunately, he was unable to assert himself on this point, but submitted a corresponding note in the minutes.

It was very difficult to argue because it was not a video conference.

"The telephone switching conference was chosen so that there would be fewer discussions."
