It has already been renamed the agreement of the Commonwealth of Royal Circles, that of the British of Ineos and that of the New Zealanders, holders.

It was all in the air for some time.

Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli is too meticulous and too dangerous to lay down the rules of the regatta with her, but above all of the construction of the hulls.

It is too tied to a sporting passion, which brings with it interests and brands out in the open.

The first rule changed is that the crews must all be of the nationality of the challengers.

It seems made to take the helm out of the hand of James Spithill, the Australian talent aboard Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli, who together with Francesco Bruni, the other helmsman, has strung together winning starts one after the other.

If Spithill wants to be in the game in 2025, aboard Luna Rossa - which has confirmed his participation - he will have to obtain an Italian passport, or stay at least two years in Italy.

It will not be difficult, it depends on the calendar that those of the Commonwealth Club will put down, but in any case the blue sail is not lacking talented helmsmen, starting with the current Luna Rossa randista, Pietro Sibello, and many other young people.

What is missing, however, is experience at these levels.

The boats will remain these, for at least two more editions.

Impossible to throw overboard all the knowledge made.

While an apparently romantic idea takes shape, that of a challenge between New Zealanders and the English to be held by 2022 on the mother island of Wight, in Cowes, where it all began in 1851.

The truth, to read the Anglo-Saxon newspapers, is that Team New Zealand has empty pockets and can no longer squeeze the New Zealand taxpayers endlessly, drawing on state funds.

The owner of Ineos, at the head of the third chemical industry in the world, has instead a personal fortune estimated at 3.5 billion dollars and could be for them.

Immediately.

Then go on a trip to Asia or the Emirates, hunting for petrodollars.

With Luna Rossa and its romanticism of yesteryear and the prospected seat of the Cagliari regattas, in the eventuality, they would not know what to do with it.
