Two years ago, the Russian edition of RT launched the "Unforgotten Stories" column, in which it reminds readers of high-profile crimes and high-profile events of the past.

One of the heroines of the rubric was the victim of the Skopinsky maniac Ekaterina Martynova.

The material about her was released in May 2020.

Recall that on September 30, 2000, Viktor Mokhov, together with his accomplice Elena Badukina, kidnapped Katya and her friend Lena Samokhina when the girls were returning from the disco.

For the next three years and seven months, the maniac kept them in an underground bunker and periodically raped them.

The eldest of the captives, Elena, became pregnant three times from him, and Katya had to give birth right in the bunker - according to the textbook of obstetrics and gynecology.

The girls were saved by a miracle.

For some reason, Mokhov decided to introduce Katya to a girl who rented a room from him, presenting her as his niece.

Martynova managed to give the tenant a note with a request to contact the police, after which they were rescued.

During the preparation of the material, Catherine said that the maniac wrote her a letter from prison, accusing her of lying.

The editors decided to find out how the rapist lives behind bars, and turned to the Federal Penitentiary Service with a request to organize a meeting with Mokhov for journalists.

According to laws and regulations, the prison department can assist journalists in arranging interviews with prisoners, but only with their personal consent.

Mokhov declined to be interviewed.

A few weeks after the refusal, the editorial office rang a bell.

The man at the other end of the tube asked to be connected either to the author of the material or to the head of the department.

“This is Mokhov Viktor Vasilievich.

You wanted to talk to me? ”He introduced himself in a quiet, insinuating voice.

The man explained that he was secretly calling from the colony and that he had very little time to talk.

He asked for a mobile phone number to call back.

The next day, Mokhov said that in the colony he was not ready to communicate with journalists, since he was included in the caste of the offended, and did not want the whole country to know about it.

The rapist explained that he was ready to talk to the camera only after his release.

When he was reminded that he would be in prison for another year before his release, he hung up.

Money after release

In August 2020, Mokhov showed up again.

In WhatsApp, he said that he wanted to take part in a TV show in order to expose Katya, whom he “still loves,” and also asked about the amount of the fee.

“First of all, I need money to renovate my house and buy everything I need, a lot of money.

So I wanted to know what I could count on.

How much can you pay and specifically for what.

I corresponded with some well-known journalists, and they gave me so much headache.

They even brought me through VKontakte with Karsten Graf (a Danish writer who co-authored a book with Ekaterina Martynova about her life in captivity at Mokhov

. - RT

), corresponded with him for a long time.

I just suspect that his page was on the left, someone else wrote.

Ultimately blocked it.

It is desirable to establish relations with an honest and decent person, ”wrote the maniac.

He said that “there can be no talk of any money (advance) at this stage.

All only after release. "

“I just wanted to know what I can count on and for what, with regards to the interview,” the prisoner explained.

At the same time, Mokhov emphasized that he had money in the colony: “I have a pension, 13 thousand rubles fall on the stall every month, I transfer 10 thousand to my savings bank every month, money will be needed only when free.”

But, since no one in the editorial office was going to pay the maniac for stories about his crimes, Mokhov stopped writing and calling the editorial office.

"I have a contract"

On March 3, 2021, Viktor Mokhov was released from the colony.

The Pugachevsky District Court of the Saratov Region ruled that the former prisoner should live under administrative supervision and report to the police twice a month.

He is prohibited from attending public events and leaving the house from 10 pm to 6 pm (except in cases of official necessity).

Also, Mokhov cannot leave the Skopinsky district without the permission of law enforcement agencies.

According to media reports, on the way home, Mokhov stopped in Moscow and took part in a talk show.

Later this information was confirmed by Mokhov himself in a conversation with a blogger from Skopin "Dmitry 62".

The young man recognized the maniac leaving the hardware store and asked him a few questions.

However, the former convict refused to answer them.

“I can't, I have a contract, they put a program there, so it's impossible,” the Skopinsky maniac replied.

According to the journalists of "Komsomolskaya Pravda", the rapist could take part in the TV show of Ksenia Sobchak.

However, the TV presenter denied this information, saying that she did not have a meeting with the Skopinsky maniac.

Meanwhile, the head of the Investigative Directorate of the ICR in the Ryazan Region, Vladimir Nikeshkin, offered state protection to Catherine, whom the maniac held captive.

As reported in the department, Nikeshkin talked via video link with a girl who had previously expressed fears that the maniac would pursue her after her release, and said that he had sent an order to the MIA Administration for the region on special control over Mokhov and increased administrative supervision.
