Cursed festival?

The first edition of the “Lille culture street”, organized by IAE Event and the Grand Playground, should have taken place in March 2020, right at the time of the entry into force of the first containment established to fight against the coronavirus epidemic.

The event had been postponed for a year, and is due to be held on Saturday.

Finally was to be held on Saturday.

This is what the organizers qualify as Lille's first festival of urban cultures.

The idea being to bring together in one place the different trends that make up the “street” universe: tattooing, second-hand clothes, designers, artists, streetwear, vinyls, etc. Dance workshops, sneakers and clothing customization stands are also planned. street food, food that is not lacking in Lille.

All this wrapped up in hip-hop style DJ sets.

This time the organizers have planned a plan "B"

The event was to take place on Saturday at the Grand Playgroung, rue Pierre-Mauroy.

A sort of “hybrid” boutique that offers a range of clothes, jewelry and other crazy items in the spirit of the festival all year round.

But history is repeating itself and a new lockdown will go into effect on the day of the festival.

Even if it is more "light" than that of March 2020, the confinement announced Thursday evening by the Prime Minister will force all non-essential businesses to close their doors.

Exit therefore the “Lille culture street” physical version.

But as they felt the thing happen, the organizers did not bet everything on a festival "in physical format".

This will be available in digital version, from Monday, with the distribution of “video capsules” on the social networks of “Lille culture street”.

We will be able to discover some of the actors who participate in the emergence of urban culture in Lille, especially around the world of skate and dance.
