Parchim (dpa / mv) - The Ludwigslust-Parchim district is facing a milestone in its corona vaccination campaign: by Easter, all residents over 80 years of age should have received an offer for their first vaccination appointment, as district spokesman Andreas Bonin told the German press agency on Thursday .

Due to the additional Biontech vaccine from the reserve for the second syringe, the vaccination lines in the two vaccination centers of the district in Parchim and Ludwigslust are well used.

The vaccine reserve was reduced from 50 to 20 percent.

After the European Medicines Agency (EMA) confirmed the safety of the Astrazeneca vaccine on Thursday, the district with its 212,000 inhabitants wants to resume vaccination with the preparation as soon as possible, the spokesman said.

The vaccination campaign for primary school teachers and educators could therefore start again with mobile teams on Friday next week.
