Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - The government factions of the CDU and the Greens in the Hessian state parliament want to enable public contracts to be awarded more quickly and with less bureaucracy.

With an amendment to the public procurement and collective bargaining law, the rules are to be simplified, said the economic policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group, Heiko Kasseckert, on Thursday evening in Wiesbaden.

"Especially in the post-Corona period, this makes an important contribution to the economic upturn."

Among other things, the minimum number of offers to be obtained should be reduced from five to three.

For clients, companies and their employees, an advice center will be set up in the Ministry of Social Affairs, explained Kasseckert.

For construction work relating to residential construction up to one million euros, a slimmed-down tender without a competition applies, which should accelerate the creation of living space.

The SPD MP Elke Barth criticized that tariff compliance and fair wages in the award of public contracts fell by the wayside during the legal reform.

Unfortunately, binding requirements for ecological and social standards as well as a limitation of subcontractor chains have not been included in the law.
