Pirmasens (dpa / lrs) - The Pirmasens-Südwestpfalz trade association has hired a lawyer to file a lawsuit against corona-related shop closings.

The association announced on Thursday that a clothing store would sue the city in the south-west of Palatinate “on behalf of all Pirmasens retailers”.

The dealers jointly financed the lawsuit at the Neustadt an der Weinstrasse administrative court in "huge" solidarity.

At the Higher Administrative Court (OVG) Rhineland-Palatinate in Koblenz, according to a spokesman, “there are currently no pending proceedings that are being carried out by retailers against closures”.

He knows nothing of any further lawsuits of this kind in administrative courts in the country.

The city of Pirmasens, in which an incidence value of 151.6 was determined on Tuesday, wanted to pull the mandatory Corona “emergency brake” only with half its force and, for example, forego a complete closure of the shops.

But the Ministry of Health instructed him to implement the state's general decree, said Mayor Markus Zwick (CDU) on Tuesday.

The infection situation is characterized by the sudden increase from a kindergarten.

A complete closure of the shops “would be disproportionate due to the special situation on site”.

But according to a decree from Mainz, he first had to pull the "Corona emergency brake".

Due to rising incidence values, a number of municipalities in Rhineland-Palatinate were recently forced to reverse previous easing.

This is what the Corona regulation provides in the country.
