Munich (dpa / lby) - Due to technical deficits, many health authorities in Bavaria are not yet using new software for corona contact tracking.

Although the “Sormas” program is installed at all health authorities in the Free State, it is only used by “an estimated at least 19”, the Bavarian Ministry of Health announced on Thursday.

Bayerischer Rundfunk had previously reported that the software was used in around a third of the 76 offices.

According to the ministry, there are no interfaces to other programs, for example the federal corona reporting software, for nationwide use of the software.

A new version of the program, "Sormas-X" with the corresponding options is in trial operation at two German health authorities.

However, problems with the data transmission were noticed.

When “Sormas-X” with the required interfaces is available, “depends on the elimination of the technical problems,” said a ministry spokesman.

The manufacturer consortium and the Federal Ministry of Health are responsible.

Bavaria has therefore "repeatedly urged the federal government to make all the necessary interfaces to the reporting software available as quickly as possible," said a spokesman for the Bavarian Ministry of Health.

For offices that use a free reporting program from the Robert Koch Institute, a solution is expected “in the next few weeks”.

It is about "about half" of the health authorities.
