Online video exchange of abused minors: 3 arrests, 119 people under investigation, including military ones

March 18, 202 128 thousand images and 8 thousand child pornography videos, 230 computer devices.

This is what the Postal Police seized in the investigation of the Catanzaro prosecutor's office in the home of the 3 people arrested.

The suspects are 119, another hundred throughout Italy.

The network was made up of "unsuspected".

From 18 to 72 years old;

professionals, students, but the unemployed, retirees, public and private employees, soldiers, a member of the police force and a security guard.  

The investigation, coordinated by the prosecutor of Catanzaro Nicola Gratteri, by the adjunct Giancarlo Novelli and by the prosecutor Saverio Sapia, started a year ago after a series of reports arrived through the international cooperation circuit to counter the exploitation of online contented minors abroad and non-governmental associations at the National Center for the fight against child pornography online by the Postal Police.

After the initial investigations, the agents identified 119 usernames used by the suspects to exchange pornographic material. 

Today the searches in 16 regions and 60 provinces, including Lombardy, Piedmont and Veneto, regions where half of the suspects live.

The three arrested are instead residing in the provinces of Imperia, Pistoia and Reggio Calabria.

Seized mobile phones, tablets, hard drives, pendrives, computers, clouds, associated email accounts and social profiles.
